So I just recently did an e36 rack swap on my 318is, along with brand new front control arms, M3 CAB's, brand new e36 inner and outer tie rods as well as new sway bar end links.
Everything that was replaced was very worn and needed a good refresh so I did it while the e36 rack was being swapped. I was hoping that this would remove the steering 'chatter' I was having but it seems to still be present.
This chatter doesn't feel like bump steer, but more like there is a lot of play in the steering somewhere. What could it be?
I am indeed getting bump steer still, even after double checking that I did install the spacers ABOVE the rack and not below. I do need an alignment, but this chatter feels a lot different than bump steer.
Thoughts?
