    Need advice for shocks/suspension.

I have a 90 325i 4doors. The car is completely stock. Recently I installed 17inch wheels. So I need to drop it a little bit and possibly stiffened the shocks a bit as it is too soft. Not for a track by any means. Want it to look nice and drivable as well.
What do you guys recommend ?

Little bit of drop? H&R sport. More drop? Race. Even more? E90 drop hats.

    Koni adjustable or Bilstein shocks.

I'm considering a bit of lowering also. My question, when installing the H&R sport springs, or other lowering springs, is a one-to-one change on lowering the front cross member and oil pan? In other words, if the springs are an inch lower, does the cross member get lowered by an inch also?

The springs aren't an inch lower (shorter), they lower the car an inch. The springs in actuality are several inches shorter, but because they are stiffer, don't compress as much.

I've never driven in a car with H&R Sports, but everything I've read says they are too soft for how low they make the car. Lots of bottoming out.

I have driven a car with Ireland Engineering Stage 3 springs (same as H&R Race) and they are just right IMO. Stiffer, but not so stiff as to be uncomfortable.

You are exactly correct. Drop 1" = oil pan 1" closer to ground.
