will these shocks work?

I just bought a set of Boge front shocks for my 91 318i off of ebay. Turns out the ones i got were for an 1984-85 318, part number 27-079-F. Are these useable?

No if they're the 45mm ones for the early models. 88-91 's are 51 mm diameter strut tubes.

only 84-85, and VERY few 84 and 85 325s came with the 45mm inserts.
