    suspension set up from 84 318i into 90 325i ??

My 84 318i has bilsteins with Vogtland springs and my 325i has stock suspension. I'm wondering if the stuff from the 318i will fit into the 325i.

      Springs, yes.
Struts, no. The early 318's have 45mm ID strut housings, the 325i will have 51mm. The springs and rear shocks will be a match, but not the front strut inserts.

Sounds like I just need to get new front struts then. Will it matter if run new front struts with the rest of the stuff?

Original BMW blistein strut insert is same for small and big strut, the collar nut must be changed to mach strut.

So I guess, that any e30 small strut bilstein will bolt to big strut with right collar nut.

And yes, you could swap to smaller strut, but toe must be adjusted(as it would be after lowering anyway).
