    Not if you do it right.

    I've cut the front springs on a Fiat X19, and they fit perfectly.

    After you cut however much of the spring off that you want, you need to use a torch to heat up the last coil so you can bend it so it sits flat in the spring perch. Then, cool the spring off in some oil.

    The reason why most cut springs end up handling crappy is because they were not done right. If both springs have the exact same amount of spring cut off, and the springs are rebent to sit flat int he spring perches, there should be no problems. Make sure to use sport shocks.

    The downside of cutting springs is that you don't know what spring rates you are cutting them to.
