pls help re frt strut assembly removal....

What are some of the quickest ways to remove the frt strut assembly.....I want to eyeball a few things and dont really need the assembly removed totally from car. I just want to be able to swing top part of strut housing/assembly out from fender.....and still leave hub/brakes attached if possible.........is that clear to y'all?........

What kind of spring set up do you have? This is easier done with coilovers than other setups depending on what you want to look at.

    Loosen the wheel
    Jack up the car
    Remove the wheel
Disconnect sway bar - see if added leverage helps
You can figure the rest from there on I assume. The tie rod doesn't really hinder the movement of the strut assy. much.

Watch the brake lines and ABS sensor as if you don't support the strut assy. well once disconnected - they can undergo too much stress.

Disconnect the front swaybar from the control arm, put a little floor jack underneath the strut/control arm, and remove the top 3 nuts from the top of the strut tower. Should let you drop it down enough to at least get a look.

Swing wild, brake later, don't apologize.

Can't see why, it takes like 10 minutes to take strut out.
