    H&R springs

if i buy h&r sport springs, do i need to buy a sport shocks or will an ordinary shock absorber work with the spring? i know h&r sport springs and bilstein sport shocks is a good combo but what if i went with the sport springs and just regular bilstein shockor another aftermarket shock? wasnt sure if the regular would work alright with the 1.3" drop.
    thanks

Larry before someone starts yelling at you I will just tell you nicely, Search. It has been covered a lot, actually I just looked it up alittle bit ago. The main thing I have seen is a concern is using any lowering springs with the OEM original stock shocks, just don't do that and you should be fine.

You might get away with a "sport" spring with stock shocks...for a while but it's not recommended. Shocks have a "sweet spot" they work best at. Might as well do it right the first time.

No you will not get away with it. Yes you should search. Get sport shocks and springs together at the same time OR NOT AT ALL.

Do it right the first time to avoid any mishaps and having to take everythingi apart again. I'd also recommened new rear shock mounts like the ireland engineering ones.

H&R race springs will drop the car close to the equivalent of H&R sport springs on a 325is.

Stock shocks (or any other meant for stock heigth) usually blow out quickly when the vehicle is lowered.

If you are unlucky enough to have a set of Monroe "SensaTrak" shocks on your car, do NOT use them with lowering springs. They are soft in the middle of the travel but stiffer on the ends...so if you lower 1 1/2", you are right at the bottom of the soft part. You will have very heavy compression damping, but virtually no rebound damping...so it actually is potentially dangerous.

Find some billys, or cheap out (like me) and go KYB. Buy shock and springs.
