    Gland nut for Koni inserts

Do stock gland nuts (no. 6 in the diagram) work with regular Koni SA inserts? The old ones I took out look okay. I checked with the dealership, but they were not in stock and cost around $20 each. I didn't get any replacements for these from Koni. I searched alot but couldn't find much information about it.

On a second note, is there a trick to get these inserts into the struts? I 'm having a hard time, the insert goes in almost half way and gets stuck. Do I need to drill a hole to release any air pressure?

All Konis I have bought came with the gland nut. Contact the vendor who sold you the shocks and let them know to send you a new set. I think you can get one from a hardware place but it's not the same as ever nut out there and make sure to get a self locking one while you're at it too.

It sounds like your strut housing has some crud in it, that wil prevent the shock from going all the way down..

Or in worst scenario, your strut is bent a bit.
