should i replace my spring pads when doing springs/ shocks?

i just noticed the other spring pad thread, and read at pelican's site,

that i should replace the spring pads when doing the springs. Are they tryign to make a few more bucks, or do these things really catch some wear?

i know some ride without any at all, but i wont go that route..
I would howver, like to get thinner ones if i did replace them, an extra 1/2 inch drop is bad in my book.

I dont think you have to, seems like pelican recomending stuff to make a couple extra bucks.

Whether to replace the pads depends entirely on what condition they are in. When I installed the new suspension on my 87 track rat the front pads were toast, but the rears were in excellent condtion. So I only replaced the front pads with parts that I got from my local dealer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

for the price on those... i'd replace them, as I don't like the feeling of something worn or half-done stuff. if you're doing it, do it all and right!

          i agree..

Now, does any one know the stock size id have with an 87- 325i cabrio?

and are there ones that are any thinner, for a few more mm of drop?

unless your stock ones are torn up, I wouldn't bother replacing them.

There are a few different sizes so just order the thinnest ones if you want a slightly lower stance. It won't make that much of a difference in ride height though (a couple millimeters at most).

                ok great, thanks guys.

even if it was only a 2mm increase in drop, id be happy. i got some H&R sports for springs, but id still like to go just a little lower, just not harsher..

i guess ill order some before i start, and sell or return them if they arent needed.
