    Opinions on Eibach Prokit

I'm fixing up an 88 convertible for my son to use for his daily commute from Thousand Oaks to Malibu. I'd like to improve the suspension. My only experience besides stock is with my 90 325is that has the full IE race package including coilovers and bilstein sports. That setup is way too stiff and noisy. I'd like something in between. Something to lower it and give it a sport look with a little better handling, but not as radical as my car. I'm thinking of the Eibach Prokit.

I had the pro kit because the PO threw them in the trunk with the sale but I wouldn't go out of my way to buy them. They're too soft and gave the car a reversed rake, lower in the back, gap in the front. There are far better choices out there such as H&R sports or KW's which will give you a firm but not harsh ride like IE stage 3's.

I've got Eibach's on mine (w/ bilstein HD shocks) and i have to say...... i'm not to pleased w/ those springs. they're soft and low, which is not a good combination at all.

kinda thread jacking, but what would be recommended over eibach's if you want a SLIGHT drop over stock, and stiffer than eibach's?

iC springs are somewhat stiffer and cabrio specific as this cars weight a bit more than coupes or sedans.

I ran Eibachs ProKit cabrio springs and yes, they do give excessive negative camber on rear wheels. not much stiffer than OEM, softes spring rate available from non oem tuners.

Roads between T.O. to Malibu are very well taken care off, so i would not worry about bottoming out with them., there"s occasional debris on local canyon roads, such as oil pan cracking size rocks, etc.

Im running M3 springs on my Zinno iC, paired to Bilsteins shocks, perfect handling, not much adverse negative camber at rear wheels either.
            she's on 225/50/15 rubber.

I used Vogtland sedan springs with bilsteins on my 90 vert
I chose those because the spring rates were stiffer in the rear than the other brands, so it would have less butt sag.

the drop and ride came out real nice!

IE3's do not have a "harsh ride". I have them with Konis and the ride is just fine.

+1 on the soft spring rate - I am running Eibachs with Koni adjustables, and they are not much stiffer than stock.

                    It's subjective. I've driven and ridden in a couple e30's with IE3's/
Koni/Bilsteins, both felt harsh to me, definitely much stiffer than eibachs, h&r sports and kw's.

eibachs///:dot: fuckin garbage... i wouldnt even run them on a daily after having them on my car from the previous owner. my GC coilvers and konis ride better than my eibach with billy sports. id say h&r with konis..adjustable konis of course.:D

I had Eibachs - found them to be too soft and too low (esp with Mtech II bodykit). So I binned them and now much happier on the H&R Sports.
