    Sway shackles popping out?

Well, I was investigating an annoying noise from my front suspension (ended up being a broken hubcentric ring), and I discovered that my front swaybars are kind of popped out.

I unbolted the shackle, bent back the tab that the 13mm nut/bolt goes through, unbolted the 15mm screw on the other side, then put them all back in, and the bar went back in place, but as soon as I lowered the car it popped back out. I understand this is probably hard to explain, so I'll just let the pictures describe my problem. That is a cabrio swaybar BTW. Not the stock "is" swaybar.

I can't figure out why it's doing that and I'd like to know how to get it to sit where a swaybar should normally should sit.

It is doing that beacuse the tab on the side opposite the bolt isn't being engaged into the slot in the frame. In other words the bracket is not properly installed.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Also be sure to install the ends of the bar with the suspension loaded, it minimizes the lateral loading of the center mounts.

remove the sway bar bracket, bend that tab (where it's bolted in the pic) back straight, insert the crescented tab into the hole (on both sides) and have someone help you pry the bracket up enough to get the bolt and it's nut married. If you don't have someone to help you, you can manage with a floor jack.

It should not come off if installed correctly.
