I'm in quite the pickle now boys and i need your help getting me some info,
I had a little accident in the mtech1 today after a local bmw meet, it seems the old nut on the outter balljoint wanted to jump ship, dont ask me how or why because I dont have an answer, I have new control arms on the way with new hardware, but in the mean time i need to get my car out of where it is, I have to place the taper of the ball joint back into the strut housing, but I do not have the nut, I need some info on the nut, just something taht will hold as i drive a 1/2 block to my place, I know its a 17mm nut but i need to know what the thread is, I know this is a hard answer, hell if i cant find a nut ill just make one that fits lol. I know it sounds unsafe and it is on so many levels, yet i think bmw is to blame as they should have went with the castelated nut and cotter pin design, the help is greatly appreciated.
