    Bad springrate recommendation?

I am going to be buying some coilovers in the next few days and I had some questions. I am currently running the spec e30 setup with H&R Race Springs and Bilsteins but want to step up to something stiffer and more adjustable. My car is a '91 318is that is a daily driver but I have no problems with running very stiff suspensions. I autocross at least once a month and will be starting HPDE's next month. The GC guy recommended some springs for me that I thought were a little too stiff. He said to run 650/800. I was thinking more along the lines of 450/650 or 500/700. Any input on this would be appreciated.
The grilles really distract you from the fact that someone took a sledgehammer to the front end.

you should run the 650/800 if you want stiffer. 450/650 is pretty close to the H&R race's.

h&r race is 300/500 roughly isnt it? thats not very close to 450/650. i say 500/750-800 is a stiff setup. 450/750 is what we were recommending with c3motorsport kits. i ran 500/650 for awhile, and for me the 500 was too stiff, and 650 too soft, so now im switching to 450/750. i will post my experience after i drive on it for awhile.
