what strut diameter do i have?

    45 or 51mm?

    i have an '87 325 IS

    i've tried searching BTW..

i was looking at the hpamotorsports website and i think it shows that i have the 45's, but in my search, i found a fella with an '85 ETA who had 51's.. so now i am just confused..

    thanks for any help.

    51mm. Basically all E30's had 51mm, other than the old M10 318's, I believe.

Your car definitely has 51mm struts, E.

    Take it easy,

so if it had small housings stock, then maybe mine does too? or did someone put in the smaller diameter shocks in the larger diameter housing before you owned the car?

I believe it was mostly 84 and some 85 E30's that had the small diameter shocks. Yours will have the bigger ones, for sure.
