    Need to lower rear again.

I just finished taking out my rear trunk tar and spare tire. Lost about 90 pounds in the back all together. Now my rear is up higher again because of the weight loss. I have already taken out the spring pads, so that is not an option.

I have the Eibach pro kit. I was thinking of maybe getting some other rear springs that are lower, but not sure about mixing spring brands/rates.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks.

That thick layer of sound deadening material was in the trunk for a reason. With it gone and the spare out the rear tires are light, hence the lift. While shorter springs will fix the visual defect, they won't help with rear grip and you'll have a tail happy E30. To fix that you can add weight back in or take weight off the front. Removing the A/C is close to 40lb or about the same weight as the trunk sound deadening, which will help with balance.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The Prokit is one of the softest and lowest springs out there, other than coilover stuff.

About a quarter inch. It is noticeable.

I am going to clean up my trunk and put a new layer of dynamat or whatever to bring the 60 pounds back in the trunk. I drove my car today and it feels like crap. The rear is loose, over bumps it feels like a pick up truck with a solid axel and stiff springs and the handeling is just not where it was at.

The only good thing is that with the old tar out, I can clean and refresh the trunk floor. I will put the spare tire back in as well. I know this is a popular mod, it just was not right for me. The added power of the m30 will be more than enough to scoot around with.

Thanks for the tips too though.

Just added 60 pounds to the rear and it feels and drives 110% better.

That's exactly why I leave my spare in when autocrossing. Screw removing it for "weightloss" With my AC gone and my spare in, it's the closest my car will ever get to perfect balance! :D
