    Ty's Touring

I am a noob here and pretty much with e30's as my only cars I have had have been Datsun 510's...until I saw an E30 Touring and fell in love with this car, I always liked a little booty!

I am upgrading my suspension and wheels on the Touring...

so far I have bought Borbet A's 16x7.5 et20 fronts and 16x9 et15 rears. I have got a hold of a Rear-subframe w/trailing arms so I can do the Ireland Engineering camber and toe plates and Urethane street bushings which I got coming from I.E. I also got a set of their beefy Sway Bars 25/22 too.

I really need to decide on some suspension, I thought about the HandR Cup Kit but I want to drive year round and use a second set of rims for snow tires as well as raise her up in the winter so now I have been searching round for coilovers. I know Ground control makes wicked camber/castor plates so I checked to if they had them for E30's and I found this whole package:

can someone here give me some advice on this, my goal long term is to track this car occasionally, and drive her year round

Looking for any advice or comments fromsome experienced E30 owners good or bad,

    Ty

Thanks Luke... I'll take some pics soon, keep in mind they will be the "before" pics as she sits stock in faded red.

Hoping anyone familiar with the GC Coilover set up can recomend a setting for front and rear for street mostly and minimal track (probably about 6 times a year)... sounds like GC is a good way to go from some other threads, but still want some opinions before I buy

There is (was?) a group buy for GC coilovers going on. I'm not sure if it's still open, but you may find some good feedback in that thread. Check the Group Buy section, and try searching 'ground control' and you should get a lot of useful info.

Thanks... I tried but came up short on the groupbuy... looks like a few people are running GC coilovers, but there is a large difference in the spring rates people are running, I gues this reflects whether their car is set up for track or street use.

I think I will go with the coilovers, that is a good package with the camber plates in it, just wish some guys running GC coilovers can speak from experience about their set up's befoe I spend my money on'em...

the group buy was NOT for GC's. the group buy was for a c3motorsport c/o kit. the setup is similar to GC, EXCEPT the shocks/camber plates/RSM, are all better components.

Tourings are things that shouldn't be cool but everyone wants them. I WANT ONE!!

Just one question, have you seen a picture of the staggered A's. I would look around because the last one I saw didn't look good. 16x9's all the way around is the best A setup. Good luck with the build and welcome to R3V
