    GC Spring Rate Opinions?

I have some GC Coilovers that are set up for bilsteins (350/500) but I'm thinking of biting the bullet and just going the full monty and getting shocks and springs from GC directly. What spring rates do you guys use and for what type of driving?

    Thanks!

500/650, good for autox, not so good for a daily.

oh cmon! 500/650 is perfectly fine for street. i used to DD my 91 rx7 9k/7k coilovers and all poly bushings. its not a big deal, you get used to it...price you pay to setup your car for what you want

GC recomended 440/600 but I'm thinking that might be a little conservative...

This is on a car with TMS solid subframe mounts, M3 Cabs and ST sway bars for whatever that's worth.

I'm running the C3 coilovers with 450/750 spring rates with a cabrio front swaybar and no rear swaybar. It does just fine on the street, and I couldn't have been more pleased at the track when I went last April.

So with a 19mm rear bar that would probably feel similar with 600 or 650 rear springs...?

Replace the rubber front strut mounts with some solid camber plates too ;) I don't know, I mean I daily it but it sucks when the roads aren't perfect.

I am buying a second set of springs to switch between autox seasons.

I DD 525/750 and I don't think it's too bad for the street. You'll get used to it.
The grilles really distract you from the fact that someone took a sledgehammer to the front end.

For lack of headaches I think I'll be going with the springs I have, Bilsteins, and IE camber plates. I'll see where that leaves me and evaluate once I have some seat time on that setup.

comfort is relative. I own a e38 740il... and my e30 is some rough shit. stiff springs and Coilovers are crazy rough. If you drive it to and from work it should be fine. Any trip longer than an hour and your back will be hurting with high rate springs.

Exactly, I live in NH and winter is around the corner which means frost heaves like crazy. Hence:

eh, i vote yer a pansy. i drove my e30 about 300miles with 500/750 and my back was fine. granted im still relatively young(26), but still, my back hurt more when i was driving my '05 Suburban the same distance...

running GC coilovers/camber plates with 450/650 with stock sways and Koni SA's, treehouse eyeballs and all poly bushings. great on track, ok on street but pretty stiff, esp on crappy NJ roads.
