    Spring pad effectiveness?

Does removing springpads give even a noticeable drop?
I mean is it like 2mm or something? or more substantial like 1/2" or even an inch?

anyone done this before and can report on the results?
    or before and after pics?

Depends on the thickness of the rear pads. Fronts won't drop it at all.

When I threw an extra pad on top of my rear springs, I was able to get the top of my wheel out from under the wheel well since the front wasn't under the front fender. This is with using H&R Race springs.

If you use the thckest spring pads, and put 2 on each side it'll be enough to get your wheel out of the late-rear arches. I did this with IE StgIII's

Good to know for the rears.
I'm actually trying to find away to drop the front a little bit more.

I'm about to purchase some springs, and it's looking like it'll be HR race(to be run with bilstein sport). All the pics i've seen, the rideheight isn't quite even, front is always up more than the rear.

I did read that vorshlag upper mounts allow you to drop the front some extra?
          they're like another 300bucks though..

The Vorshlag Camber/Castor plates come with spring hats to fit the type of springs you are using. Their spring hates pretty much make the stack height the same as just using OEM spring perches.

No, I just read somewhere on the forum that you could drop the front a bit more
                with Vorshlag camber plates..

Are those drop hats any good?

Dunno about the Vorschlag CPs, but the Bekker spring hats seem to be just fine. I want a set for the GFs '89...she will not let me lower it except in the front, and only an inch.

really, so how did it turn out?
any pics? really just an inch drop?
read somewhere that its like 1.5" might be a bit much if i already have race springs
