M3 springs and stock shocks on 325is?

This is one combination I haven't come across in any other thread, and I'm wondering if it'll work. I don't intend to track or autocross, and I'm happy with the ride and handling as-is. Basically, all I'm looking to do is drop the car a little, and I understand that the M3 springs will do that about 3/4 inch. I may not be keeping the car that much longer, but if I do, someday I'll do a set of Bilsteins when the stock shocks start to go. 1990 325is, 49K miles.

    Thanks.

The stock Boge shocks aren't valved for M3 springs. They'll blow. But if they're the orginal shocks on a 49k car they're probably already blown.

I have M3 springs on my 85 with stock spec shocks. Had them for almost a year and they're still great.

A split opinion. I guess it can't hurt too much to try - at worst the shocks will blow and I'll be forced to buy a set of Bilstein Sports. They sure don't feel blown yet.
