    shock/strut info

    i did a search and nothing came up...so can anyone tell me what the housing diameter front and rear on a 86eta is?

    No housing in the rear. Are you looking to order shocks?

      yea...just wanting some stock ones for now, and my napa store shows like 2 options

        Small ones are 84/85 and larger are every year after that. Rears have only one option. Reason being... fronts are strut inserts have have a threaded deal on the top of the housing with a seal that goes around the strut insert. Rears are just plain shocks that bolt on shock mount and a lower mounting bolt.

            Small ones are only used on 84 and 85 318i models. They are 45mm. Larger ones are 51mm I think.
