    Racing dynamic springs

I just scored a free set of race dynamic springs! I don't know anything about them besides the fact I was told they were for an e30. Along with the name engraved onto the spring, there is also a number. 196-20-30-002 can anyone tell me a bit more about these springs? or where I could find some more info

    thanks, dan

They're the original Racing Dynamics springs based on the font. Electrodyne made replica springs (most were blue) using Arial font on the springs. The green ones you have are more desireable, I guess you could say. I don't have any information about spring rates or lengths, but it's a basic mild street spring that is comparable to an H&R Sport.

Yes, this is true. One of my friends has these on his car. It is slightly lower than my car on H&R sports. Spring rates are comparable.

I think his car has more rake, but I'm not positive because he has the late valance with an iS lip on an early car with the small valance.

I dunno how much, but I might be interested in taking them off of your hands if you sell? Does anyone know the exact drop on them?

Yes the green ones are the more desireable ones .
They have a progressive rate .

But don't think you can ask an arm and a leg for them ....usually $225 or so would be the max going rate .

Heres my black car coupled with Bilstein Sports :

And heres my 318is with same springs , Bilstein Sports and drop hats :

No spring pads in front on either but pads in the rear to get the rake I was after .

                E30 M3 / E30 325is / E34 525iT / E34 535i

$225 would be steep, edit: brand new--you might be able to get that much.

On my 318is with the 4-cyl, ride height was about the same with blue RD (Electrodyne) springs, green RD's, and E30 M3 HR Sports...if that helps..
