    I am running the CG KONI SA top adjustables front and rear with H & R races, and CG told me to run the spacer on the bottom of a standard strut assembly. I even tried to put the spacer on the top of the shortened insert and all mounted up the front springs were coil binded with each coil touching each other without weight on them. So I knew that was wrong by just looking at it. When I noticed this is when I called them and asked which place to put the spacer at.

      I run same set up here.....it just doesnt make sense ANY other way.

      oh....BTW......look into your dyslexia.

          Atomic.. What spacer are you talking about? Is that the big metal ring(2)?

            The Spacer is cylindrical in shape, approx 2in long

            The Metal Ring is what you will weld on for the springs (Spring Pearch)

                The spacer GC provided me with to run H & R races on stock uncut strut assemblies was 4 inches long. The were heavy gauge pieces of pipe cut to length and treated.

                Not sure what metal ring(2) you are referring to though.

                    If you guys are blowing shocks by bottoming out then you have your ride height set too low and possibly too low of a spring rate as well. Using the metal spacer as a buffer to prevent bottoming out is...well, I don't even know what to say. From what I'm reading you're basically running out of compression travel right? So you're putting a metal spacer on top of the damper to prevent this?

                    If you want your car that low then you need to shorten the housing, that is the proper solution.

                        +1, looks like i'm going to be purchasing my coilover stuff in the very near future. I currently have, iirc low mile, OE length koni sa's that i wont be needing. Perhaps a trade would benefit us both?

                          Atomic, this is about using Ground Control's, not race springs. Your throwing a wrench into the mix and really confusing the aim of the thread.
