e36 rack - what tir rods? (not just ends)

    Hi

I've searched and found people say that e30 tie rods will work with the e36 rack swap (but they may have meant rod ends).
I need to replace my inner tie rod (not just end), so i want a clear answer as to whether a COMPLETE e30 tie rod (not just a rod end) will work on a e36 rack. complete e30 tie rods are cheaper than e36, hence the motivation.

EDIT: also why is it that on e36 left and right tie rods are different and e30 ones are the same?

    Thanks
    Alex

      1. Either complete e30 or e36 tie rods will work with the e36 rack swap.

      2. E36 are right and left specific because each side incorporates symmetrical curves to allow for more tire clearance when turning at full lock (not an issue unless you're running oversized tires).

That being said, I'm running E36 M3 complete tie rods.

Awesome. So I don't have to take it apart. That's good news.

...now if I could just get STARTED!!
