Any good write-ups on Camber plates.. I'm debating.

Pardon the punctuation in the title.

I want some camber plates with versatility. They need to be able to be run with coilovers or with standard style springs.

I am wanting to hear opinions on Ground Control, Vorshlag, and IE... and others. I have read a lot on the Vorshlag, but they are somewhat cost prohibitive.

Can the IE or GC kits be easily switched to run coilovers/standard springs?

Can anyone tell me any shitty stories about either?

Houston , the only thing you need to know about when it comes to camber plates is Vorshlag .

If you've done some reading then you know they are the best period .
You can run them with stock style coils now and with coil-overs later by changing the upper hat .

If cost is keeping you from them maybe I can get you a slightly better deal as Terry and Brian can cut deals on their older stock .
Same stuff just doesn't have the newer etchings in them .

IE, not so great. Intended for stock type springs anyway.

The Vorshlag camber plates have the shortest stack height out there for a true camber plate .

You can check out THIS for measuremants of the E36 set-up .
The E30 will pretty much be the same .

For $20 you can opt to go with a different upper perch bearing that is 5mm shorter .

Better design, easy to use, and better materials.

                  how is the design better?

to me it looks like the vorshlag will have the same problem as ground control.

the alen bolts for adjusting camber will make contact with the ID of the strut tower opening before the full range of camber adjustment is met.

Somebody should either make a new plate with the camber slides recessed, or make a 1/4 inch spacer to drop the plate below the below the strut. then you can set the camber, then set the caster.

INMO you are an idiot if your dumping the camber down at the track and moving it back when you leave. Set it once on a machine and leave it.

why not reduce neg camber on the ride home?...what if you are going 300 miles on tram lining roads w/ ruts etc.

neg 3.5 degrees driving home can be a bit annoying when you are exhausted from the day.

The GC (what i have on my car) seem to work just fine, and the material is fine too. The only problem I had with mine initially is during the install, the bilstein sport inserts don't have a long enough thread to mount them vs. the koni adjustable shocks and you gotta pay attention on how you install / tighten them. Other than that they work as designed, I've had them for just over a year now.

Which of these have urethane mounts and which are solid? How's the ride with solid mounts?

When I install IE stage 3 springs, how much negative camber will that produce, before any camber plate adjustment?
