    Help; Install Ireland Rear Sway Bar

    Well what can I say? I like Jeff Irelands products, but there are never any instructions for installs.

    I bought his super oversized front and rear sway bar kit. Comes with all the bits and pieces, but none of the explanation.

    The front sway bar was technically simple, but sad to say a seized front subframe bolt really screwed me; at the end the whole cross member had to come out;

    From what I understand; I will need to drill holes in my boot to install the rear sway bar supports, but it looks like there are some triangles here that may need to be welded in.

    What do you guys think?

    Already got the new strut tower mounts for the rear as I am chewing through them as we speak.

    Got some pictures....

    Yes, you'll have to drill holes in the trunk deck for the sway bar bushing mounts. And you will certainly need to reinforce the pickup points on the trailing arms. The IE kit only includes flat plates for the trailing arms and they really aren't sufficient (the casual reader can figure out how I know that). A reinforcement similar to what Turner offers is what's needed.

    The easy way to locate the holes in the trunk deck is to use the through hole in the bracket. I ground down the end of a bolt to a pin punch and drove it through from the bottom. But an appropriately sized center punch would work just as well. Then drill that hole from the trunk an use it to index the other hole.
    The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

        I didn't take any pictures but the parts I fabbed up are very similar to those that Turner sells. There's a decent picture of them on Turner's web site.
