Before I even get started, yes i've searched, i've looked threw countless pages of posts, but have yet to get a for sure answer. I have an 86 325 (yes its got an ETA but will one day have something different, I'm enjoying the great gas mileage it gets now). The car is just a DD right now but I plan to attend a few novice driving schools then later on attend some track events. Right now the car is lowered, how, Im not sure, possibly just heated springs or lowering springs, im not exactly sure. I just want some thing that will look good and handle good also. I'm not scared of a rough ride the roads here are pretty decent. Which would I be better off with? Coil-overs or just lowering springs? What brand? I would like to get coil-overs for adjustablilty of the ride hight, IMO nothing looks better than a slammed e30. I have read that Bilistins or Koni's are about the best choice for shocks, But what kind sport or HD? Also, What all suspension parts should I replace while i have it torn down (bushing, bearings, ect, ect)? Sorry for the long post, I just want to do it right the first time and not have to worry about anything later, and maybe this can help some other people reading out. I am in no hurry to do this, as I will be peiceing the whole thing together as I get the money. Thanks guys...

I wouldn't get coil overs unless you want to spend the money, a good spring shock setup should do you fine. if you go with billy for the shocks you will want sports the hd works best with stock height springs. for springs the popular ones are h&r or the ireland engineering. I would get whatever the spec e30s use so I can resell them if I don't like them. but its really subjective depending on your own comfort vs. performance wants/needs. that's why you will get a million diffeent setups. the ones I listed are popular with a lot of people. for all the other bits email patrick at bma and tell him you want to get a new suspension he can get you everything that can be changed while you have everything torn apart.sigpic

Also you could not have searched that much of you are still asking wether to run Sport or HeavyDuty Bilsteins or if you should 3 times as much by going to coil-overs versus conventional springs .
Put a little more effort into it and don't expect everyone to hold your hand .
