I've put my 325is struts in M3 strut tubes.

I answered your question with YES because that's the answer. It wasn't an opinion.

I'll ask here too: are you sure? I thought M3s had 51mm inserts vs. 48mm. If this is the case, my life became a lot simpler!

M3's and 325's are all the same except for some very early 325's and the early 318's. Shocks and springs can all be interchanged. The shock tubes themselves are a little different as the m3 has a seperate knuckle and 5 lug. But that doesnt effect the usage of the shocks or springs.

So again, YES, they can. Move along.

Ah, excellent. Then I guess my Konis are no longer for sale. I wonder why koni has different P/Ns though. Oh well. Thanks!

The E30 M3 Koni SA are valved more aggressively than the normal E30 Koni SA. Also the rear shock absorbers are 1" shorter to promote the use of shorter (lowering) springs in the rear.

So yes, although the shocks/strut inserts are interchangeable in form factor, the damping and length is slightly different between M and non-M Koni SAs.
