    blue sways?

My buddy and I were walking through a junk yard a few weeks ago and found an E30 with, what I can only explain as billstein blue sway bars on it.
My question is, did any company ever make blue sway bars? The front is approximately 22 or 23mm.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,
    E30Fiend

I have seen powder blue sway bars before --- definitely older sways, not IE's. I don't know who made them.

Anyone else shed some light on this subject?

And yes they are powder blue. They are the same color as the billstein logo.

I just wanna know what they are so I have some more insight on them.

        Thanks,

My ST set is grabber green, not unlike the THR eyeball arms.

But, other ST sets I have seen were silver.

Sounds like mine. They are older for sure. I have no idea who made them, but they are nice (three way adjustable front bar and two way rear IIRC). They are about ~21mm front and ~18mm rear.

I took a stock 325IS sway bar bushing and put it around this bar and it had like a 3/8 inch gap. The bushing on the stock bar touched together

Thanks for the replies but can anyone else add any kind of expertise to my situation?

                  Thanks,

What size are the stock front and rear sways?

                      ^^^^^^

If his car is an eta like it says in his avatar then they should be 18.5mm front and 12mm rear. Late model 86's had 20mm fronts and 12mm rears.

I have a blue swaybar for my 2002, that I think was made by a BMW tuning company that split up in the early 90's as I recall from researching it a few months ago. I forget who its made by but I could check it out when i get a chance. It was two people's names combined, IIRC.

Yeah!! 99% sure that's it. Old skool bar! Past the chipped away paint and surface rust it seems like it was a smurf blue. Funny thing is, I bought a ST sway bar set, and the front bar is the same size as the vintage H&B bar I already had.

Edit, nope. I knew I recognized the name, but it seemed a little more obscure to me when I saw the bar for the first time. I would have recognized Hardy & Beck. The name on my blue sway bar was actually Miller and Norburn. And I was at least a decade off, Preston Miller left M&N in the very late 70's, and M&N ultimately closed in the mid 80's apparently. I've got an ancient bar on my hands :) I guess that doesn't help much ID'ing another blue bar though, unless H&B bars are blue too.
