trying to remove a steering wheel at the junkyard but the wheel is locked up-something is holding it up after the removal of the main nut- any surgical suggestions?

I had the same prob. as you need the key to unlock but there is a way,you need to drill at the back of the steering column once you do that it should release the wheel hope that helps

3/8" drillbit on top of the steering column directly behind the wheel.

I was wondering about this too - looks like it's time for me to finally go grab the MT1 sitting at the local yard. Thanks for the info!
