Which Steering rack do i pick????

Well i need a new steering rack mine is leaking like a bitch so iv gone to RealOEM to fine the part number and i get this.

So im confuesed they are both part number one so what do i do get both of them or just one whats the differance? Or more importantly which one do i need to fix my steering. Oh its to a E30 318is.

Don't bother with getting another E30 rack.
Get an E36/E46 or Z3 unit;)

Bit of work needed to get them to fit but they transform the car.
Robe30 is selling complete conversion kit too.

E30 M3 rack is the quickest 3.5 turns lock to lock and all other e30 racks are 4.0 turns lock to lock. The e30 m3 rack is fairly hard to find as well. I do not honestly think they would notice if you have a e36 rack in your e30, but I could be wrong too.

The e30 m3 rack does have a nicer ratio. But if you want to take out .5 turns from your steering to do the same job, its the same crime as taking out .75 out - just to a higher degree. Just get another e30 non-M rack if you want to stay in spec.

Only in comparison to e30 racks is the e30m3 the quickest.

The Z3 is 2.8/2.9 LtL IIRC

The 1995 e36 M3 rack is 3.0 LtL IIRC

All other e36 racks including 96-99 M3's are 3.25/3.5 IIRC

Do not hold me to those numbers but they are close. I would have to go and search again to find out what they are exactly.
