    Bump stops on front struts

    Hello,

I installed Koni shocks and H&R sports springs a couple weeks ago, but just realized I didn't put in the foam bumpstops that came off the stock shocks, and the Konis didn't come with their own. From the searching I have done, the Konis do not have internal bumpstops.

Is it necessary to run bump stops with this setup? Since the coils of the springs are so thick, would the shock ever compress to the point where it would need bumpstops?

    Cheers

You might not need them under normal driving conditions, but you'll be unhappy you don't have them if you ever decide to drive too fast over a dip or bump etc.

Yes you do need them but they need to be cut in half to allow for some shock travel.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

            Ok. Thanks for the replies.

Another question: How much "give" or flex should there be in the rear shock mounts? When I push down on the rear suspension, at times it looks like the rubber on the shock mounts are compressing more than the actual shocks. I know the mounts are good with no cracks. I'm just wondering if replacing the shock mounts would improve the ride quality.

            cheers

If you have Koni stops don't cut them. Leave them like they are. They are nice and soft and progressive....And non hysterisis....Which is a good thing...Once my car hits the autox course I'll be using mine nearly all the time even in roll.....And by doing it this way it will be just that much more stable during bump transitions.
