I don't know what all these people are complaining about. I run around mainly on the street with 450/750 coil overs with Konis and it feels great. Not harsh at all. My daily has H&R race and billy sports... also very smooth.

My daily has H&R race and Billy sports. The cup kit is the way to go for comfort. Talk about smooth. But it may be too low for the faint of heart.

I own 2 bmws and am 18 years old.

I have put alot of money into this e28. I am well aware of the cost of these cars. But at the same time i am also a student that is tring to support him self resposibly. I have a car for racing around in. In fact i have 2 of them. One is mine the other is me and my dads race car. So for you to be hostile and throwing out fighting words like go buy a honda you better be able to back them up. I wasnt asking anything that should offened or give any reason to give you the reason to show disrespect.

you put all that into that IS yet you pop on here asking what the cheapest way is to lower a car? then you ask if cutting springs is a good idea? look at the IS that is the way to do it right. may not be the cheapest but it is the proper way to do it. and as i said before get the m3 springs and put them on the tired, worn suspension. the original title to this thread is "protecting my ride quality", then you let on that the suspension is original on your car with 150k (i think). ok so now i think your a ebay special artist cause there is nothing "normal" or "stock" about high mileage parts on the car that havent been replaced. lemme break the proper way down for you (some of this involves ebay parts, so youll be good):

go on the bay, get your self a control arm, control arm bushing, tie rod set for $200 shipped.
go again on the bay and find a deal on new strut mounts front and rear for about $100.
get yourself some boge,kyb gr2s or whatever cheap ass tokico nonsense that you want as long as they are new.
put your cheap m3 springs on, or spring for h&r sports if your feeling froggy.
total invested $750

if you actually search and look around there are people on here that do things the proper way and there are the cheap ass ebay kids that want to mod everything for $20. if you cant afford to do it right, that puts you in the cheap ass ebay category, and for that i say "go buy a honda, if modding a e30 costs you to much". so if $750 is to much to put on a $400 car go to emotech they will tell you to cut your springs and roll around on your original suspension all day long. if my answers annoy you cease to ask annoying questions

if that doesnt work ask your dad for some cash and rebuild it properly like you did on your IS, which i had major props for when he (or was it you) posted that project car thread originally.

I am not ttrying to make enemys. But i feel as tho you are trying to attack me. I asked the cheapest way to do something. I said i was going to trebuild the suspension. There is nothing wrong with wanting to save a little bit of money. I asked about cutting the springs because some guy did it to a convertible around the cornor and it didnt look bad. i thought it was a hack job but none the less i thought it couldnt hurt to ask. I love your cars you have impecible taste. I would rather be your friend and get along with you then have a little war going on. So here is what i want to do.


I want to replace all the rubber mounts. And the tie rods. Then i would like to find some decent shocks i wans thinking some billi tourings. The i want to run the pro cup kit.

How dose that sound to you?


I would like to offer a peace agreement. I did not mean to offend anyone by starting this thread. I don think i deserved to be told to go buy a honda because i wanted to do something the cheapest way. :sad: :shock:
