    h&R coil overs

I recently picked up a set or H&R coilovers from bmp outlet, and I had a few questions, I noticed that on the strut it has etched into it bilstein and a part number but the coilover has anH&R sticker on it. did bilstein make the early coilover, mine was made in 2000 according the date stamped on the springs, apparently BMP bought them for them for their race car but went another route.

Also should the front struts be compressable by hand like the shocks? these dont seem to move, I ask a guy at BMP and he said sometimes it needs the weight of the car. any thought?

link to purchase so you can see what they look like

I don't know about the whole coilover part number deal but the struts shouldn't be compressable by hand. Especially the front struts.

The car will compress the shocks when lowered. You'll like it, its not too bad of a ride.

Camber plates are highly recommended for the fronT. Vorshlag is the best by far. As for the rear, there aren't camber plates. But there are a few companies that make adjustable trailing arm bushings though. Those can give you a fair amount of adjustment which is always nice.

Bilstein produces the dampers in the coilovers.

I got an H+R coilover kit from them like 4 to 6 years ago. The kit I had ran progressive rear springs. What are the rates front and rear?

there are two setups for the front, 80-20 and 60-50 tender springs and 130-80 and 180-70 main springs, the rears are 100-120, should be fairly stiff. so it should be 400 and 457 lbs/in for the front and 685 for the rear
