    Suspension problem

    Hey guys,
There is a problem with the apex suspension I purchased last summer. My drivers side of my car is about 1/2-3/4 of in inch lower than the passangers side of the car. Can there be a deffect in the springs?

I was wondering if maybe apex sent me one side for a 2.4 inch drop and 1 side for a 1.6 inch drop.

Anyone else have this problem. My dad said maybe when they were installed my back springs went in the front and my front went in the back on the drivers side. I dont think that is the case however.

    Any info please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm probably the only other person on here with Apex springs ;). The springs are physically not interchangeable front to back, so that can't be it. Is there any damage to the springs? Did you hit a pothole and blow an upper strut bearing at some point, but only on one side? Car ever been in a wreck? I can probably measure mine tomorrow, if you want. I'm actually going coilovers soon, so if you want another set of springs, mine will be up for sale shortly.

Curious if the upper spring perch is aligned correctly. I have a helava time trying to keep it lined up when I lower the car back down off of jacks with the stage 3's.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.

A few zip ties or some solid wire holding the spring to the upper perch has worked on cars I have fiddled with in the past. OP, it is worth checking this simple item, it is a possible cause.

Jack up the car a tad and see if the end of the spring is butted up against the shallowest part of the perch. If it is not jack it up the rest of the way and spin the upper strut mount to where it does. Of course I am assuming that your springs have a little slack in them and didn't need a spring compressor when they were installed.

I have apex on my vert, check the part number on the springs 20-1035 are the 2.4 drop and # 20-1030 are the 1.6 drop make sure all four match I know of at least 5 e30's wearing apex and no problems reported (yet)

Il have to check that. It is barely noticable when you look at the car, you have to take a real good look. The reason why it is so annoying to me is because my fenders are getting punched out by my wheels at times when I am turnig!!!

Im gonna send my car to a local shop tomorrow to get checked out. What do you guys think of the FK coilovers? They look pretty good at an offordable price. Does anyone know of any good springs that give at least a 2 inch drop, and that would be even on both sides lol?

the springs probably srent seated correctly. And if you find out that the springs are actually the problem, look into H&R race springs, good spring rate and they lower it ni8cely. Either that or eibach prokit springs lower it about 2" all the way around

Eiback lowers 1.6, and the H&R Race 1.7. Ive looked in the forums on peoples suspensions and I dont find them quite low enough. And the back looks higher than the front. You hear of the fk coilovers?

I just came back from a local shop. They said that everything is fine, its just my springs that are complete shit. They said they are finished and that they are practically fully compressed together. So what kind of springs would you guys suggest that give a drop close to what I have now. Are spax good springs??? Thx

Never dealt with spax, but if you can get Vogtlands they are pretty good. If you want stiffer springs, go with H&R Race, all the way ;).

I was thinking about the race but would it drop it enough?
