i ordered the ie 25adj/22 mm sways and just put on the front yesterday. i have the bently 3 series manual and it says how to do the front however i did not see a write up for the rear sways. by looking at the rear it looks as if i might have to drop the exhaust or diff but i would rather not do that. does anyone have a write up for the rear sway install or know what page to look at on the 3 series bently manual? any help would be appreciated. i have searched but found nothing.
installing rear sways?

You'll probably need to drop the rear exhaust hanger, drop the shock on that side and remove the spring. That should give you plenty of room. You'll need to work the swaybar in over top of the diff but you shouldn't have any hangups. Leave the bushings off the bar during install, and put them back on (grease them too) after you get the bar in position.
Edit: Just noticed you have a 22mm rear bar. I've never had problems putting in a 19mm with the method above, but never tried a 22mm. -
I did it with the shocks off, sway endlinks disconnected, and took the springs out as I was already swapping parts. With all that out of the way it wasn't too bad. Wasn't easy but inserting one end and feeding it through at an angle was needed.'74 2002 - Build blog at
