    Coilovers without camber plates...

I tried searching but apparently "without" is too common of a word and without it the search is useless.

Am I okay to run GC coilovers without any camber plates? I don't plan on slamming the car or even lowering much more than full height. I was lead to believe camber plates are recommended for strengthening the shock towers?

Thanks in advance for any help, sorry if this has been asked a million times before.

I'd say it would be okay unless you ran really stiff springs. I'm not entirely sure what denotes "really stiff," though. The rear spring locations are strong enough, as I think you have figured out.

I installed my fronts with the stock upper mounts and ran them for about a week, but there was a considerable amount of flex in the upper mounts. I think they would be fully collapsed after about a year from new if you drove on bumpy roads. This is with billy sports and 350/475 rates.

After installing Vorshlag plates, steering effort lightened up and accuracy improved. The front also felt stiffer over road imperfections, although you get used to it quickly. Without the plates, I don't thing you'd see that much of a handling gain. The car would corner flatter, but understeer very easily. At least, this was my experience on street tires.

I hope all that made sense, and good luck.

Thank you, that was helpful. I've got 440/550, so I will probably need to get the plates too.
