So wtf is with the mysterious inserts for shortened struts?

So, besides just ordering from gc, does anyone know what struts to get for a shortened setup? I've seen some people mention corrado inserts but i found another thread claiming than they didn't fit. Anyone have first hand info? Tia.

    This thread http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/show...strut+housings
(the original source of my confusion) seems to confirm that G60 Corrado inserts are what you want.

This is what I found on mye28. I'm not sure if the e28 struts are the same, but yeah here's what he did. He wrote down the PN's that are on the gc coilovers and I checked and they are g60 corrado ones.

And that is from this photo album

Just read through that link that 2002 posted and if you scroll down there is golde30's install using those parts so it should work.

Just so you can be 100% Correct: The Ground Control struts are only BASED on a Corrado. The only reason for this is that it saves time dealing with Europeans when you tell them to start with something that they know.

The only thing that the Corrado insert and the Custom Valved Ground Control insert have is the dimension of the yellow part. This is only to make it easier to have the pieces built in Holland.

The valving is completely different, the stroke is different, the droop is different, the adjustment range is different. Everything except for the dimensions of the yellow part and the 1198 printing is different.

Thanks for the info Jay. I'm not opposed to buying the parts from you, but I prefer bilstein.
