Does this sound reasonable for the front suspension?

I bought a '92 325iC with 93k miles on it about a month ago and it needs some work up front. The front control arm bushings are shot, there is some play in the passenger wheel, and the shocks are blown. When I push the car, I get a whine in the steering and I feel some soft vibrations in the wheel. The power steering fluid is up all the way. I just want to make sure I'm not doing anything stupid, so here goes.

Everything is stock right now, but I want to put in an E36 steering rack, E36 tie rods, E36 control arms, 96+ M3 strut mounts, 95 M3 control arm bushings, E36 cross brace, Sparco front strut bar, and Bilstein Touring front strut inserts. Does that sound good or will there be any problems?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Chris, are you planing on driving the thing like a bat out of hell?

If so, IMO, buy a coupe or sedan. Or a rollbar, or something.

    Plans for 5 lug?

Lol. No. I crashed my E36 sedan on august 8th on my way home from work. I turned my head for a second as the car in front of me hit the brakes. I hit it quite slowly. My airbag didn't go off and the X3 I hit just had a scuffed bumper and the exhaust was knocked down while one fender, the hood, and the nosepanel were crushed on my car. The radiator still works but the coolant reservoir shattered. Anyway, except for the Sparco bar and front strut inserts, I have all of these parts already and they all have under 6k miles on them.

I know this car isn't that fast and is a lot more dangerous in an accident. I'm not trying to make it some real fast car because I know its not. Just driving moderately on the backroads I am doing speeds that would put me to sleep in the E36. This car is a lot more fun to drive, however. I found myself grinning this morning while doing just the speed limit on a straight road. The last time that happened in the E36 was when I drove it for the first time in several months after doing some major repairs. In that car it was always about how fast I could go. This E30 just begs to be driven lazily and I love it. I just want to fix the stuff that is getting on my nerves like the car's weak floppy chassis and I want some quality steering feel like I had in the E36, although even as-is, it feels pretty good in this E30. Besides, I don't plan on replacing the original springs.

I actually thought about the 5 lug swap as I have all the parts I need besides the rear trailing arms. I would love to use my two sets of wheels I had on the E36 and I would love to have those good E36 brakes back, but unless I could find the trailing arms super cheap I wouldn't bother. I can't see myself justifying that any time in the foreseeable future, even if I do want it. I would much rather spend the money and time on fuel and maintenance on this car.

You should be able to get the rear arms/assembly for a song.

            Revised statement...

You (Quailane) should be able to get (purchase) the rear arms/assembly (e36 318ti components) for a song (low price).

Ok, thanks. Sorry, I was unclear about the meaning of "song." I'll have to take a look for them then.
