help needed - power steering leak

My 65K mile '89 325 has a power steering leak that has been getting worse, no doubt due to yours truly putting power steering fluid into the "ATF" tank.

Now that I've been educated on the "Use ATF, dummy" issue, is the leak likely from the high pressure hose, or will I need to replace the pump? The area under the intake manifold is hard to see, so I'd like at least an idea before I start poking around in there.

Any other advice about maintaining the PS system would be welcome.

    Thanks!

In my experience, the probable cause of a lean (in order of occurance) is:

    1) Supply and return hoses to the reservoir
    2) Rack seals
    3) Pump seals
    4) High pressure hose
    5) Reservoir
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
