    Loss of power steering...

On the last run of a 2 day HPDE my steering got very hard and it felt like the power steering was gone. I ended the run early and everything under the hood/car looked fine, but no power steering.

On the drive home (about 2hrs) the power steering came back and steering felt normal again. Anybody have any ideas or experience?

the pump probably has some trash in it, and got freed up on its own

time for a p/s flush maybe?

I don't run the power steering and wouldn't call it "very hard" except when moving slow or not at all...so yea maybe something got caught up in there?

remember, tho, if you have a nonfuntioning pump, the steering is harder that a settup with no pump (extra restriciton)

            +1 on the reservoir filter.

My car had the wrong belt on it when I got it. After driving like that for a week or so I got tired of risking throwing the belt and the occasional screech so I just took the belt off.

Isn't hard at all when driving. I prefer it actually. A lot like my 02 with its smaller steering wheel.

I'm definitely going to flush the system and maybe replace the reservoir/filter. I just hope the pump isn't going.
