Car pulls to the left like whoa!

I've had this issue for quite some time now and it's eating away at my patience and overall driving pleasure. the P/O had neglected alot of maintenance so i refreshed most of the car. for the suspension i installed new CAB,struts(billy sports),springs(h&r sport),control arms, tie-rods, rear sub bushings, rta's, rims and tires.

took the car in for an alignment and it came out good. dont have the specs but can supply them. even after the alignment my car still pulls to the left.

i have to drive with a hand holding the wheel straight to drive straight down the road. it used to dog track bad but now it goes straight i just have to hold it there. highway driving sucks as speed exasperates the pull.

i've noticed lately in addition to the pulling that when slowing down from any speed the car vibrates some initailly then settles. it doesnt dart to one side or the other when braking just vibrating or shuddering.

c/n: car pulls to left. rebuilt suspension and got alignment. still pulls. alignment numbers are in spec except for front caster. 1 side higher than other.

after months of dealing with this issue i finally decided to replace the suspension to see if it would help. the P/O had installed lowering springs and struts so i didnt think that my problems were from those parts.

i bought a set of billy HD's and some lowering springs. new mounts for all 4 corners and installed everything yesterday. come to find out....the old springs were sooo whupped that the springs had started to corrode and wear flat between the coils! litterally riding on the coils. one of the front strut tubes had been bent for additional camber but the other front left untouched. the same front strut was pissing oil and wouldnt compress fully due to bad seals allowing water in the strut.

the car now rides like its on air! even without getting another alignment yet... it drives much straighter and i can even let go of the wheel. im amazed. never thought it would ride this nice. been daily driven on blown-to-hell-suspension for like 18months.

have you swaped the tires? R-L?

The car will always pull were the tire has more tread.

what you discribe, sounds like a tire pull.

Also just cause you take it to aaliagnment shop doesnt mean they did a good job.

take it to another shop, and get another to get another opinion.

Have the alignment shop check rear alignment as well. If the RTABs are gone, the thrust angle, rear camber, and rear toe can go all over the place. This will result in pull and instability, no matter how good the frond end is.

Any alignment tech worth his salt would be able to spot a problimatic value, though they should have test driven it before delivering it. Most likely you have a slipped belt in a tire. Try swapping your tires left to right and see if the pull changes directions.

i may have not been clear so let me straighten somethings up<--- pun intended:nice:

I had severe problems with alignment. installed new CAB, RTAB. brought car in for alignment. rear of car was put back to spec. it no-longer dog tracks. front still had some issues. more camber on drivers side than on passenger. overall car handled better but pulled.

im confident in the alignment shops ability and will be bringing it back there for adjustment since i just installed new struts/shocks and springs.

when installing the new parts i compared the front drivers side strut to its replacement. thats when i found that it HAD BEEN HEATED AND BENT FOR ADDITIONAL CAMBER. the passenger side strut wasnt bent. this would put more camber on the drivers side increase the tires contact patch when compressed and cause a pull.

i also compared the old springs to their replacements. the old springs were worn out soo badly that the coils were riding on each other. it eventually wore the spring flat between the coils. it was no longer able to support the weight of the my body let alone the car. and also created some wonky handling compressed.

                I will still be bringing it in for an alignment. the point of my update was to say the following;

                1. I had a bent strut tube on drivers side and not the passenger. i know it was bent because it the seem between lower flange (where the tie-rod and control arm bolt to and) strut body was cracked, dimpled and showed signs of being heated. i put both struts old and new on a flat surface and stood them upright. measure the angle of both struts in relation to the flat surface.

                2. springs were worn badly. completely sag'd out. riding on coils.

dude youre gonna be kicking yourself in a few thousand miles. those HDs wont last very long on any application but stock springs. lowering springs are gonna blow them out real quick

You cant do anything to adjust a stock E30 on the rear.

you have to buy a aftermarket rear kit.

right but if the bushings are shit, replacing them will help bring it back into spec
