Strut bar --HELP--

So I bought a strut bar from another R3Ver, it came off a 90 325IS,the PO said it fit his perfectly.

I tried to mount it on my 88 325IS and the bar is about 2 inches too long.

Then I tried to put it on an 87 325IS and it was about an inch too long.

The plates only go on one way so I am sure I did it right.

I don't see my strut towers "flexing" that much without obvious evidence of a twisted or fucked up unibody.

my buddy had the same problem with his 88 iS. There are two different width shock towers. Looks like you have two cars with the narrower shock towers.

what kind of bar is it??

My 325 and my M3 have different width strut towers, which require different width bars. One had an IE bar, and the other has a Sparco bar. I could not interchange the two though as there was at least an inch difference between the two.

You just need the other size bar.

Andy lets put it up to mine and see if its close. If you want it for looks and not purpose (you did say it was ebay) than lets cut and weld it.
