I have heard that fox body mustang shocks work for lowered E30s.

The rear is a piece of cake on any e30 if you lower it. A Mustang is exactly the same length, its just that some people buy that for the e30 because it cost less.

the front is where it gets tricky. it cost you nothing but time to try it and see if you like it. the Bilstein (or Koni or stock or anything) will be pretty much on the bumpstops if you lower 60mm.

But, it is just labor to try it.

group buy = work on the car yourself because thats how you save money and learn.

there are two alternatives to get more travel if you think you are bottoming out too much after you put the springs on.

Try it first, and I can fill you in if you PM me

so are there shorter rear shocks available? When I lift my car up, my front travels 2-3 inches tops, but my rear travels 6-8 inches. I'd like shorter rear shocks that wouldn't allow rear wheels to travel that far. Any help?

I was wondering the same thing Art. No rear sway means the TA's drop a lot more when you jack up the car. You could fab some stops, simmilar to the swaybar endlinks?

i'd want a functional shock that would do the trick

I'm pretty sure I'll reconnect sway bar back in after all is done.

if Mustang uses similar shocks, maybe there are shorter shocks for a mustang then?

Bilstein sports should be short enough and the dampening should be fine.

why does it matter how far they drop? unless youre jumping your car, it shouldnt make a difference...

shocks are not there to hold your suspension in place, theyre just not designed for that kind of load. reconnect your sway bar
