Look into an aftermarket rear shock mount because your stock one won't last long especially if its beat already. Other than that, it should be simple.

PS I would say Ground Control makes the best rear shock mount in my experience. I had them on my last car and they are SOLID. There are several other options though.
The grilles really distract you from the fact that someone took a sledgehammer to the front end.

nothing more than i tell anyone else. replace all the bushings that you can while youre in there. upper front mounts, rear upper mounts. if you want to be even more productive replace the CABS, control arms and tie rods. its all gotta come apart, might as well do it all at the same time. BTW cheapest deal for the spring and shock set up is on ebay through CARR industries. $699 shipped.

thanks for the great advice. i was already planning on buying beefier shock mounts, just wasnt sure where from.

smokin, have you had experience with these CARR folks? maybe im weird but i try to avoid buying stuff on ebay. i just dont like the site. however, thats a good deal.

yes i have. i bought my hr race springs for my swap car from them. i ordered springs from them, and shocks from turner on the same day. i got the springs 2 days before the shocks arrived. needless to say i was peeved at turner. but yeah they are legit and their seller feedback will show that also.

hahaha my bad dude. i was in the reply screen and couldnt remember what it was. i looked at carr's site they seem pretty legit and you guys say so too so maybe ill buy through them. some vendors say a camber kit or something is recommended with the H&R race, is this not necessary? excuse my lack of knowledge, ive never lowered a car before.

nope you don't "need" one but its a good idea imo if you have the $

Vogtland or the new redesigned Groundcontrols offer the lowest stack heights and the most adjustability.

hnr race and billy should give u a good drop. i'm running a billy sports and ie3 setup and i like the stiffness (just right) but we all know that it can go a tad lower in the front especially for late models. if you're looking for camber plates i'd recommend these (shameless plug lol)

i dunno what youre riding on currently. but this is my old car on the same set up as youre looking at. new control arms, THR lollipops, tie rods, upper front and rear strut mounts. no pads in the front and the medium pad in the rear (for rake) all on 17"s.

nice ride. ive got fresh control arms, bushings, tie rods, etc. im ordering the springs and shocks today, along with new mounts and maybe a strut brace and shock tower brace. all this on bottlecaps, maybe some 16s in the near future.

Bumping this ancient thread to see who has the best prices. Bimmerworld wants 824, turner wants 782. Anyone buying these cheaper elsewhere?
