Location of M3 Swaybar Mount

Hey, can one of you m3 owners help out a fellow e30'er?
I am trying to find where the stock swaybar mount is on the strut tube on an m3.
What is the distance from the control arm up to the mount?

Right below the weld for the spring perch, or at least that is where I had mine welded. I just mounted the link and tab and marked where it should be on the strut housing.

I know that, but I need to know the actual distance, as I dont have an m3 strut tube sitting here :-)

do you have the m3 links? I didn't have an m3 tube either. I just installed the link on the end of the sway bar, then bolted on the Ground control tab and lines it up on the strut housing, the very top of my tab was right underneath the weld bead. I can go measure mine if needed.

Yea, your suggestion is the best way.I am getting the links in tuesday, I guess I can wait till then to weld :-)
I am getting a little antsy, the track day is rapidly approaching :-)

I'd just wait, once you get the links it dosn't take long to get it all together if you have the capability to weld. I had to take mine down to a autobody shop but it was still together within a day. I replaced the control arms and bushings also.
Make sure not to go to large with the front bar without a larger rear bar.
at first I had the 21mm cabby bar with the m3 links and it was over kill with the stock rear, so now i put an 18.5 up front and it's a lot better. More body roll but not so much oversteer.

Yes, with the 21mm bar. The Front end was FLAT. but way to much oversteer, I could feel the rear end roll but nothing from the front. I had a 20mm is front bar, and the 18.5mm eta bar in the garage so I bolted it on. A couple days latter I ran the Tail of the Dragon with the Knox. CCA. It handeled great, I'd rather have the body roll then the oversteer. I had no problem keeping up in the corners with the 3 E46 m3(straights were a different story, luckily the dragon dosn't have many of them) in front of me. and John A in his e30 M3 wasn't riding my tail in every corner.(He had more body roll then I did )

wouldnt too big of a front bar cause excessive understeer?

Ely, what about the 18.5 bar? Did that make a difference as compared to the stock links?

Oversteer, understeer who cares it wasn't good.
with the 18.5 and m3 links yes it was better then the stock 20 with stock links. My car was perfect with just the cabrio bar and stock links, but I had blown shocks then. Wheer as now I have m-technic Bilsteins.
