Replaced Front Shock Mounts...Still Hear Knocking Up Front...

Last week I got the front shock mounts replaced. The knocking sound is still there on the passenger side. I do know as a fact that my front shocks are blown, but really haven't stepped up to the plate to buy a set of Bilstein Sports just yet.

Are the front shocks to blame?? Any idea what else I can look into?? TIA

maybe the spring was install inproperly, and its crooked and not on the bevel.

Well...it was making noise before I replaced the mounts as well. I was there when holding the spring compressor when it was installed, lets just say that everything was installed correctly.

What else could it possibly be?? The bearings were also greased up pretty well.

when does it make the knocking sound on bump? or the on the turn?

Well...the thing is, the sound comes and goes. I can drive on the smoothest roads & I hear it.

Bad shocks, bad control arms, sway links or sway bushings are all candidates.

I would say sway links or, if not already replaced, Control Arm Bushings.

Also check the gland nut that holds the shock cartridge in the strut for tightness.
