Bought an 88 325e with a bad slushbox (for the wife to drive) and was disassembling yesterday and noticed the rear shocks are yellow with a Sachs M Tech 1 sticker. Have the Vehicle History Report and nothing listed as sport suspension under options, so guessing they were installed later. The springs appear to be stock and not sure what the front struts are obviously--is there any way to tell?--but the car sits at the normal height.
Were these OE on M Tech 1 cabs and were they used with the usual stock springs or are they shorter? Stiffer dampening than stock? Down the road I'd like to lower the car like my 325is with H&R Sports, but she's not crazy about the stiffness of the is, so thinking of some kind of compromise. Any info and suggestions on this is appreciated!
