Coil overs on uncut strut housings?

Can you run coil overs on uncut strut housings? I swapped out my bilstein sports out under warranty and noticed my eibachs were looking rather grubby and some of the paint was cracking off showing some rust. Lasted 7 years of northeast winters oh well. I'm on a budget and would like the adjustability of C.O. for winter etc. I don't want to buy shorter struts etc. Running CO on standard length struts would limit my lowering abilities? or would it be a huge mess? The car is mainly a DD that likes to get "driven" on twisty back roads and hopefully some auto x / trackdays. Thanks for hearing my thoughts

I think you can. but you just wont be able to go as low as you could with no spring perch.

I'm running GC coilovers with Bilstein sports and uncut housings. Works fine, but they bottom out every once and awhile and you can't slam it to the ground.

A while ago I talked to Jay at GC. I have brand new Billie sports and didn't wanted to keep them. His alternative was to cut the srping perch and use their $400 CO set, have the adjuster welded on to the housing and you can still use your stuts. I didn't do it but that is an option.
