    Chrome Metal Valve Stems

Looking to switch out the rubber stems on my Ronal LS's with the real chrome metal ones. Went to my usual tire place and all they have are the ones with the nut that screws on from the top, but want the ones with the nut on the inside. Where's the best place to find these? Ebay has lots, but questioning the quality.

Have you checked tirerack? My local shop had them, but they are kind of a specialty business.

got mine form a motorcycle catalog, also most bmw motorcycle dealers will have them

they came standard on R1200C and R1200CLC bikes for a straight one

and if you wan ta 90 degree one go for the one that came on the K1200S and K1200R

Just talked to the guy at Tirerack and he said they carry them for wheels they sell, but mine are Ronal LS. He asked me twice what vehicle they were for--seems confused obviously. Said he would check w/hardware and call back.

The other question is are the valve hole sizes standard on most wheels?

yes, most wheels have a 10mm hole some italian wheels use a 8mm hole, but they are very rare

most CF wheels use a 8mm hole too, but usually from the hub

The two sizes I've found on ebay are .453 (=11.5mm) and .23 (5.8mm). My wheels have tires mounted on them, so I can't check for the hole size. Maybe the .453 size correct for a 10mm hole so it seals?

yea, that would work fine, these things arent an exact science from what i remember

now that i think of it, i have a set of appliance wiremags with 11.5 mm holes in them

dont get the cheap ebay ones, I have broken two of them when mounting tires. Go to your local harley davidson place and take a look at their catalog for valve stems. They have every size and its about $14 for all 4.

Perfect--was concerned about the ebay ones since they're so inexpensive. Plus, there's a Harley dealer two miles from me. Thanks.
