    Tire distance

Hi, I recently bought new tires for my 1987 325i. I have the BBS 15" wheel and bought the stock tire; 205/55 R15. The front tires seem to stick out further than the rear tires. When measuring, the front tires are 1 inch further apart than the rears. Is this normal? The car has been lowered by the previous owner... if I add a 1/2 inch spacer to the rears, will this have any negative effects on car safety?
    Thanks.

That is how e30's are, the rear wheels typically needs a 10-15mm spacer (depending on how much the car is lowered) to even out the fitment. As long as you get a spacers and extended lug bolts from a reputable brand, there will be no adverse side effects. Just make sure you have the fender clearance so the tires don't end up rubbing.
